With an experience than spans over 4 decades, Omar ALAOUI joined the team to ensure the Saray project would be completed successfully.
Born in Dakar on 16 February 1954, Omar ALAOUI grew up in Casablanca. From an early age, he lived in an environment where he rubbed shoulders with a number of architects, such as Azagury, Zevaco, Tastemain and others.
Having obtained his baccalaureate, he joined the 6th Pedagogical Unit of Architecture (UP6) of the Ecole des Beaux Arts of Paris in 1973, where he attended the workshops of renowned architects, such as Castro, Buffi, Grumbach and Alexandroff.
In 1982, he opened his first architectural office and developed the first modern building of Moulay Youssef Avenue in Casablanca for Alliance Africaine. In 1984, he created Quadra with the late Elie Azagury and participated in big projects such as Bank Al Maghrib in Agadir and Casablanca. The partnership lasted for more than 11 years and was marked by study tours around the world and connections with great artists, such as César, Armand, Venet…
Drawing on this rich experience, Omar decided to start his own practice in 1994 and produced large varied projects, such as the Mohammed VI Conference Center in Skhirat (the first conference center meeting international standards), the headquarters of Bank Al Maghrib in Marrakech, Casashore in Casablanca, Technopolis in Rabat and recently the Marina in Casablanca, as well as the Grand Theatre of Rabat designed by Zaha Hadid.
